Scholars explain that "ihsa" (memorization) in this hadith does not mean merely reciting the names. It means: 1) Knowing and memorizing the names, 2) Understanding their meanings, 3) Calling upon Allah by them in supplication, and 4) Living by them — letting the meanings shape one's character and worship.
