How it works
How is the Qibla calculated?
- 1Your device's GPS provides your current latitude and longitude
- 2The Haversine formula calculates the bearing from your location to the Kaaba (21.4225°N, 39.8262°E)
- 3If your device has a compass sensor, the compass rotates in real time to point toward the Qibla
- 4Even without a compass, the exact bearing in degrees is shown so you can match it with any external compass
