Everything you need for Umrah, Hajj, visa requirements, packing, essential duas, and visiting the holy sites — all in one place.
Every step of Umrah — from Ihram to Tawaf, Sa'i, and Halq/Taqsir.
Put on Ihram garments at the Miqat, make your intention (niyyah), and begin reciting the Talbiyah. Men wear two unstitched white cloths.
Circle the Kaaba seven times counter-clockwise. Start from the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad). Make dua and dhikr during each circuit.
After Tawaf, pray two rak'ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim. Recite Surah al-Kafirun and Surah al-Ikhlas.
Drink Zamzam water and make dua. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said Zamzam water is for whatever purpose it is drunk for.
Walk seven times between Safa and Marwah hills. Start from Safa and end at Marwah. Men should jog between the green lights.
Men shave the head (Halq) or trim hair (Taqsir). Women trim a fingertip's length of hair. This completes the state of Ihram.
The complete steps of Hajj — from the 8th to the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.
Enter Ihram and proceed to Mina. Pray Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr in Mina. Spend the night in Mina.
After sunrise, proceed to Arafah. Pray Dhuhr and Asr combined and shortened. Make dua, dhikr, and istighfar until sunset. This is the most important pillar of Hajj.
After sunset, proceed to Muzdalifah. Pray Maghrib and Isha combined. Collect pebbles for stoning. Pray Fajr and return to Mina.
Stone Jamarat al-Aqabah with 7 pebbles. Offer sacrifice (Qurbani/Hady). Shave/trim hair. Perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and Sa'i.
Stay in Mina. Stone all three Jamarat daily (7+7+7 pebbles each). Recite tasbeeh and takbeer. You may leave on the 12th if you wish.
Before leaving Makkah, perform the Farewell Tawaf (Tawaf al-Wida). This is the final act of Hajj. Face the Kaaba and make dua.
